Owner & Founder
Chris Cranston
is a licensed
physical therapist (MPT) and certified canine rehabilitation practitioner (CCRP) whose lifelong love for animals
has driven her to apply her skills and knowledge to animal rehabilitation in the Boston area. Prior to opening
FlowDog, she founded Cranston Pet Rehabilitation, an in-home physical therapy practice that serviced pets in the
comfort of their own home. In addition to running Cranston Pet Rehabilitation, Chris was the Operations Director of
the physical therapy service at Massachusetts Veterinary
Referral Hospital and prior to this worked for Sterling Impression
Animal Rehabiliation Center of New England.
In 2004 Chris earned her
Certification as a Canine Rehabilitation
Practitioner from the University of Tennessee. She was one of the first 100 in the United States
to earn the distinction. She also has a Masters of
Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Iowa.
Chris has 13 years of
experience in human physical therapy including hospital-based rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, and sports
medicine. Prior to moving to the Boston area, she was manager of the Sports Medicine Department at Wardenburg
Health Center at the University of Colorado - Boulder. Chris also enjoys teaching and was a member of the
clinical faculty in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center.
Chris, an animal lover her
whole life, had many "pets" growing up in rural Iowa. These ranged from turtles, ducks, salamanders, and hermit
crabs to the more traditional dogs, cats, and rabbits. She understands the owner-pet bond and does everything in
her power to foster that relationship in her practice.
